For the last 6 months I’ve been working with a great group of really smart folks based in the UK. The company Clearpace software had seen tremendous momentum and interest and back in May launched a beta cloud storage service running on Amazon AWS based on Clearpace technology called RainStor. The interest in the technology and great reception for the brand led to the decision to relaunch the company in the USA as RainStor (the Clearpace brand and products are now subsumed under the RainStor umbrella).
Together with today’s announcement, RainStor is also opening up offices in San Francisco which are super cool (if I do say so myself, since I saw many an ugly office space before finding this gem in the heart of the financial district). The address is 45 Belden Place, San Francisco CA 94104 and is in a popular European row of terrific restaurants, adding to the charm and flare of the new HQ for the British Company moving over to US soil.
RainStor’s technology originated out of the Ministry of Defense in the UK. Very top secret and James Bondish, the patents were commercialized and now form the basis for a unique specialized repository which is the most cost-effective and efficient way to store and access historical structured data.
I’ll be blogging more about the company and our technology in the upcoming months, but in the meantime take a look at www.rainstor.com
