RainStor’s office opened up for business today at 45 Belden Place in San Francisco. For those of you not familiar with Belden Place, it is a row of European restaurants with outdoor seating and a very European way of having matradees solicit you to join them for lunch or dinner as you walk down the lane. Often known as the French Quarter of SF, Belden is between Pine Street and Bush Street.
RainStor is on the 2nd floor on the Pine Street side opposite the excellent Italian Restaurant Brindisi. The glass door entryway leads to a small reception area with a glass conference room (pictured below). The rest of the 2100 sq ft consists of 3 small offices with a nice open area.
Those former employees of Evolve Software, the former company of RainStor CEO John Bantleman and yours truly will recognize the cool Battery St/Jackson Sq area brick facade. We were very happy to find this building and location with the help of Anne Lawrence our Broker. As you might imagine there are alot of vacancies here in SF, but good space is still sought after. We were fortunate to find this space after looking at over 10 different locations. Together with the outstanding location right in the heart of the financial district, we also really like the superb property management run by the building manager Teresa.
We also furnished the office with a great deal on modern second-hand furniture from Berkeley Office Interiors. In this challenging economy we feel we did very well with our location, lease costs and discounted used furniture.
The biggest challenge facing RainStor’s pending launch is for us all to maintain our figures. Not our P&L, but our weight, due to the ridiculous array of gourmet restaurants within yards of the office.
That’s all for now, if you are in San Francisco do come by and say hi!
