Subject: Hot News Alert: MetaTV takes the honors at Liberate eTV World keynote
Yesterday I attended a lunchtime keynote made by Mitchell Kertzman, CEO of Liberate at eTVWorld in Santa Monica.
Mitchell showed a Liberate interactive TV menu springboarding to various eBusiness sites. The FIRST site shown was EOnline and Charlie Tritschler
VP, Marketing of Liberate said “This was done by one of our partners, MetaTV” He proceeded to drill one level deep and showed a screen displaying the CBS “Survivor” show.
Then he proceeded to show the Bloomberg screen (seen it), demoed the Seasame St interactive app (enough of the old thing already) and a Shania Twain music video (been there seen that).
The MetaTV Eonline portal was the only new thing in a tried and true double act demo from the Liberate. NO OTHER VENDOR OR PARTNER WAS MENTIONED DURING THE KEYNOTE.
Earlier in the day, I moderated a panel on Timeshifting in which I began by doing a 3 minute MetaTV infomercial. At the end of the panel, I didn’t get “much love” from the audience coming up to the panel looking to ask the panelists questions.
Immediately after the Liberate keynote however I was Mr. Popular. Several people came up to comment about how good the Eonline screens looked and asked how we created them. The COO of Gist.com who I had previously hosted on the timeshifting panel came up to me and asked if his CTO could come and visit MetaTV when he was in San Francisco in a couple of weeks.
Kudos once again to everyone who worked on the EOnline project as well as all the other Portal Syndication partners.
